How do I sell stablecoins for euros?
You have been paid in stablecoins, for example USDT or USDC, and now you simply want euros in your bank account. Good news: this is one of the easiest things in crypto.

You have been paid in stablecoins, for example USDT or USDC, and now you simply want euros in your bank account. Good news: this is one of the easiest things in crypto. In this article we show step by step how to sell stablecoins for euros or dollars, how to get that amount onto your IBAN account, and where to receive your stablecoins before you sell them.
Selling stablecoins through an exchange
A stablecoin is pegged to a currency, usually the dollar. One USDC or USDT is therefore worth roughly one dollar, and a little less than a euro. That makes selling straightforward: you know fairly precisely in advance what you will end up with.
You sell through a crypto exchange. You deposit your stablecoins on the exchange, place a sell order for euros or dollars, and that is it. There are several trustworthy platforms for this, such as Bitvavo, Kraken, Bybit and Coinbase. Which one you pick depends on your preferences, the coins you hold and the fees you find acceptable. The principle is the same everywhere: deposit, sell, withdraw.
Because stablecoins barely move in value, you do not have to time the market. Selling a stablecoin feels more like exchanging money than like trading.
From exchange to your bank account
Once you have sold your stablecoins for euros, that amount sits as a balance on your exchange account. From there you simply transfer it to your own bank account. You link your IBAN, request a payout, and the money arrives like any other transfer.
This works with almost any Dutch or European bank. Think of traditional banks like ABN AMRO, Rabobank and ING, but equally of modern neobanks like Revolut, bunq and N26. As long as you have a valid IBAN, you can have your euros paid out. Some crypto-friendly banks process these transfers a little more smoothly than others, but in principle it works everywhere.
First receive: on your exchange or in a wallet
Before you can sell, you obviously need to receive your stablecoins somewhere. You have roughly two options.
The first is to have them sent directly to the deposit address of your crypto exchange. Handy if you were planning to sell quickly anyway, because then everything is already in the right place.
The second option is to receive them in your own wallet first, such as MetaMask, Exodus or a hardware wallet like Ledger. That way you keep control of your balance and only send it to the exchange the moment you actually want to sell. We explained receiving stablecoins earlier in this article on receiving payments in stablecoins and crypto.
Do not forget your bookkeeping
So far the easy part. But there is one thing you do not want to overlook: the moment you sell or convert stablecoins to euros is often a relevant moment for tax. The value at that point counts, and you have to be able to substantiate that transaction later.
The data is already there, because every sale is visible on the blockchain and on your exchange. The only thing you have to do is turn those transactions into readable entries in euro that line up with your books. Do that consistently and you will have no surprises at year-end.
How STBL Admin keeps track of this for you
STBL Admin is built to handle exactly that. You connect your wallet, non-custodial and read-only, so you never grant access to your funds. STBL Admin pulls your full transaction history, converts each amount to its euro value at the right moment, and produces overviews you can hand straight to your accountant or the tax office.
That closes the loop: receive, sell for euros, pay out to your bank, and bookkeeping that simply adds up. What you then handle for tax and which choices you make stays between you and your accountant. Keep in mind that this article is informational and not financial or tax advice.
